20年以上葡萄取自較高海拔的葡萄園,風味更加豐富。裝瓶前,酒液與酒渣(Lees)浸泡培養三個月(sur lies)以吸取酵母的獨特芬芳。迷人花香與黃色水果香氣,口感清爽且酸度均衡。
WINEMAKING
From the higher areasof Cariñena, all thevineyards are bush vine.
The grapes were selected fromthe higher areas of the regionin order to obtain more fruitflavours.
The grapes once pressedwere settled and only the clearjuice was fermented.The wine remained on leesfor 3 months before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
Intense aromas:Floral andyellow fruit.
Fresh with good acidity, well balanced with good length.

Castillo de Monseran 蒙塞倫堡
蒙塞倫堡 (Castillo de Monséran)位於西班牙東北部的古老法定產區-D.O.P. Carineña (卡里涅納),由羅馬人於西元前50年建立,是歐洲最古老的保護產區之一,位於巴塞隆納”和”馬德里”中間。
Carineña產區是公認的Garnacha品種發源地,而之後Garnacha品種才轉移到法國南部,成為隆河(Rhone)產區的重要品種。Carineña產區的風土條件與南隆河相似, 不少高品質葡萄酒皆來自此產區。總釀酒師-Hugh Ryman從法國波爾多大學畢業後便展開世界產區巡禮,曾於澳洲的酒莊釀酒,與澳洲傳奇釀酒師-Brian Croser共事。
釀酒師Jesús Prieto生長在Carineña產區,接受當地釀酒教育,對當地風土瞭若指掌,深知如何展現Carineña最棒風味。 Hugh Ryman的釀造知識與Jesús Prieto的傳統工藝,造就了如此迷人的「蒙塞倫堡葡萄酒」。
- CARIÑENA
The Cariñena vineyards are locatedin the Aragón region, 300kmnorth-east of Madrid and 150kmsouth of Rioja, and with a totalvineyard area of 21,500 hectares.The vineyards are planted atbetween 350 and 700 metres abovesea level, and those selected forCastillo de Monséran are at 550metres. The climate is continental,with warm days and cool nightsduring the ripening period, leadingto optimum grape maturation.

HISTORY
During the Middle Ages grape growing and inemaking prospered under the protection of several monasteries, and by the 16th century vineyards covered 50% of the territory of the province of Zaragoza.
In the nineteenth century wines from Cariñena were used to boost the production of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, but it began to find its own identity with the granting of Denominación de Origen (DO) status in 1932.
The 1990s was a period of rapid development due partly to numerous mergers of small wineries and cooperatives, and to a change in the style of the wines produced to suit modern palates.
OUR PARTNER INCARIÑENA IS BODEGASSAN VALERO, WHICHWAS CREATED IN 1945 BY60 GRAPE GROWERS AS AWINEMAKINGCOOPERATIVE.
TODAY IT HAS GROWNTO INCLUDE AROUND 700GROWERS WHOCULTIVATE A TOTALOF 4000 HECTARESOF VINEYARD.
BODEGAS SAN VALERO
The company has a technical team which includes viticultural and winemaking experts who closely monitor the growth of the vines, from the pruning season to the maturation of the grape, thus determining the optimum time for the grape harvest and the final destination of each parcel of grapes once they are picked.
The bodega’s winemaking facility was modernised starting in 1999, with a five-year investment plan totalling 8 million Euros (US$10m). As a result, the bodega now has a state-of-the-art winery with 12,000 small oak barrels and an annual production of 1.5 million cases. The two bottling lines each have a capacity of 12,000 bottles per hour and there is also a bag-in-box line. The bottling facility is certified to the IFS, BRC and ISO 9001 standards.

Castillo de Monséran is madeby winemaker Hugh Rymanand Jesús Prieto, the winemakerof Bodegas San Valero.Hugh is a graduate of the prestigiousschool of winemakingat Bordeaux University and workedat Petaluma, while Jesús graduatedfrom Zaragoza.
Together Hugh and Jesús workwith a team of viticulturaliststo select appropriate vineyard parcelsand to choose the right momentfor picking.
