Edradour Ballechin 13 Year Old Batch 1 Cask Strength Edition Whisky
Nose:Bonfire notes with sweet sherry tones of gooseberries and plums, followed by dark grapes, heather honey and European oak.
Taste:A very smoky flavour is enhanced by orange zest, bitter chocolate and wood spices. This develops to raisins and apricots, salted pistaschios and a hint of white pepper.
A full strength 2009 vintage 13-year-old edition of Ballechin, the name given to Edradour distillery's peated whisky. This Ballechin 2009 13-year-old Cask Strength was bottled in April 2023 and is labelled as Batch 001, so hopefully this is the first of an ongoing series.Ballechin 2009 13-year-old Cask Strength has been assembled from a mix of bourbon and sherry casks and was bottled at a robust natural strength of 54.9%.
Signatory Vintage owner Andrew Symington bought Edradour from Pernod Ricard in 2002, and began producing Ballechin the following year, so the early vintages are getting realyl interesting now.Ballechin is usually peated to around 50ppm, so it's a must-try for Islay fans looking for something a bit different - this Cask Strength 13-year-old looks like a good place to start if you haven't had one before.

艾德多爾一直都堅持只使用祖先所承傳下來的技術來蒸餾,就連用人的規矩也遵循過去的傳統,只維持「三人行」,每代都是三人一組一起烘麥、蒸餾、裝桶,每年30000公升的產量由三人來完成,一直到現在他們仍堅持只生產最精緻的單一麥芽威士忌,每一桶艾德多爾都是酒廠精心手工蒸餾的,就如同黃金一般,滴滴珍貴。
艾德多爾酒廠深藏於蘇格蘭高地南部山坡內的峽谷中,它是蘇格蘭內最精緻的威士忌蒸餾廠,同時也是最小的蒸餾廠。產量非常稀少,一個星期僅生產約12個橡木桶的數量,整年的總產量甚至比不上一般酒廠一個星期的蒸餾量。因此每年只有少數幾桶能夠供應到市面上,艾德多爾的單一麥芽威士忌極其珍貴,是不可錯過的稀釀珍藏。
